The term Parian comes from the island of Paros in the Aegean Sea, famous for its white marble which was widely used in sculpture by the ancient classical Greeks. Parian pottery became very popular in the mid-nineteenth century and was produced by many pottery workshops in the Stoke-on-Trent region of England. Parian porcelain is a self-contained porcelain body, extremely clear and can even be used in cast form for figures, dolls and other light objects. This porcelain contains an extremely white star that uses the flotation method to achieve its proper granularity. For the spills, a little foaming may occur if it is stirred at high speed. Low agitation speed is recommended.
Pre-deffloculated spray dried powder
In order to prepare a casting slip of density about 1720-1740 g/l must be added 44-45 liters of water for 100 kg of ceramic body. Recomended viscosity is about 50-70 seconds in Ford cup nº 4. If viscosity is higher then adjust by adding sodium silicate in very small quantities.
CELLULAIN is a translucent white porcelain paper clay which stands out for its high plasticity, what makes it exceptional for modelling. It is especially designed for creating impossible shapes with porcelain. The presence of paper fibres inside avoid formation of cracks and deformations problems. Its formula is very stable and provides a secure firing range between 1230 and 1270ºC. Suitable for tableware (food-safe), according to ISO 6486. Available in extruded body. Presented in a 5 kg cylindrical format in a carton box.

The same recipe as plastic special porcelain makes a superb casting slip or the base for decorating slips. It has good translucency even at lower temperatures and fires very white.
